Lawrenceville Out Loud

Satirical magazine

In 2016, I created Lawrenceville Out Loud with Jonathan Ge while a junior at the Lawrenceville School. We wanted to introduce a satirical publication that would examine not merely Lawrenceville, but also investigate the United States and the world abroad.

We published new articles online every two weeks, establishing a consistent writing team that centered around six primary student content producers.

This was the first website I had ever created, and such an undertaking required four months of self-initiated study of HTML, CSS, and Javascript to begin my web development path.

In the fall of 2017, a special print issue was produced, which can be viewed here.

It can be viewed at

I chose a vibrant and flat aesthetic for the cover of the magazine, which catches the eye as it sees the magazine lying around campus.

In addition to our typical commentary, we included a collection of advertisements based upon real student organizations or fictional products. These were all produced in Photoshop and InDesign.

Various advertisments were created to better depict Lawrenceville Out Loud as a "real" magazine. Subtle references to Lawrenceville and overt uses of humor add a distinct charm.
